Dr. Arnold is a Chemical Engineer with research interests in the area of environmental engineering. He is most interested in problems involving municipal waste management, recycling and composting systems.

Dr. Mitchell is a Mechanical Engineer with research interests in the areas of experimental solid mechanics, sound and vibration problems, and optics. Other areas of interests include improving curriculum and monitoring graduate attributes.

He was previously the Assistant Director of the Nova Scotia CAD/CAM Centre at DalTech where he provided technical support and training for industry in the field of CAD/CAM technologies. Projects dealt with numerical control, computer aided drafting, finite element applications as well as CAD/CAM Systems Design, and instrumentation of civil structures.

After leaving Dalhousie he worked for the National Research Council (NRC) as an Industrial Technology Advisor in the Industrial Research Assistance Program (IRAP). During this period, he taught part-time in Engineering Department at Acadia. Upon retiring from the NRC Gary continues to teach part-time at Acadia.

Angelo is an instructor in the school. He has formal training in the fields of both electrical and chemical engineering. His interests include Computer Aided Design, Computer Aided Machining, 3D Printing, CNC machining, laser cutting, plasma cutting, embedded microcontrollers, hardware abstraction, mechatronics, instrumentation, measurement, design, and prototyping. He is also a member of the Maker Community.

Dr. Rand is a Civil Engineer with research in areas of water quality including examining drinking and wastewater, environmental surveillance and evaluating agricultural water. She is also the A.D. Foulis Chair in Engineering. For more details on Dr Rand’s research click here.

Dr. Tango is a Mechanical and Environmental Engineer with research interests areas of biological engineering, ground water, biomass, bioenergy, and aquaponics. Also, one of his more specific topics includes exploring the dispersion and eco-toxicity of antifouling compounds from marine structures and assessing the toxicity of nanoparticles.
