The Ivan Curry School of Engineering would like to congratulate all of the students who received an award this year. This page contains a list of awards received by students throughout the 2024-25 academic year. It does not include awards presented during spring convocation.

A.D. Foulis Design Award:

Each year, nominations are considered for the A.D. Foulis Chair Award for Design. This award is accompanied by a $500 prize to be shared among the recipients. The award is presented to a student, or group of students, in the Ivan Curry School of Engineering at Acadia University that demonstrate diligence, passion, and excellence in Engineering Design.

Dean's List:

Dean's List distinction is considered annually at the end of the Winter term. To be considered eligible, undergraduate students must achieve a SGPA of 3.70 or above and have completed a minimum of nine credit hours in each Fall and Winter term (minimum of 18 credit hours total).

Engineers Nova Scotia Associated University Award:

Awarded to a graduating students from each associated university in Nova Scotia, that demonstrates the following qualities: ethical conduct, compassion, industry intelligence, scholastic achievement, service to follow students, technical skills, and involvement in extracurricular activities and need.

2024-25 recipients:

Engineers Nova Scotia Associated University Scholarship:

Awarded to a graduating student from each associate university in Nova Scotia, exhibiting academic excellence.

2024-25 recipients:

Engineers Nova Scotia Future Engineer Award:

Awarded each year to students in their first year of engineering at Acadia. The recipient is a student who demonstrates ethical conduct, industry, compassion, creativity, scholastic achievement, and involvement in extracurricular activities. The award is presented in consultation with the faculty.

2024-25 recipients:

Gerald Leslie Eaton Scholarship:

This award is presented to the Acadia student in Engineering who, on entering the second Acadia year in Engineering, has the highest record in the courses of first year.

2024-25 recipients:

Bernard N. Cain Memorial Scholarship:

This award is presented to a student that has completed at least one year of study at Acadia, and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and who show strong potential for the practice of engineering.

2024-25 recipients:

Seamone Family Bursary:

Awarded to a returning student from Nova Scotia in the Certificate or Bachelor of Applied Science programs at Acadia who has demonstrated an applied approach to problem solving and interacts well with fellow students and faculty.

Eric S. Eaton Award:

Voted on by the senior engineering students and awarded to the student that best demonstrates active participation in all aspects of engineering student life at Acadia.

2024-25 recipients:

Frederick C. Turner Award:

An endowed scholarship has been established in memory of Frederic H. Sexton, C.B.E., founder and for forty years President of the Nova Scotia Technical College. It will be awarded to the final-year engineering student with the highest record in the course at Acadia and who commences full-time studies at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Engineering.
