2024 Award Winners

The Ivan Curry School of Engineering would like to send a warm congratulations to students who received an award during the 2023-24 academic year. This page contains the list of Applied Science students who received an award/medal at the 2024 Spring Convocation.

Ralph B. Mounce Medal in Engineering

The Ralph B. Mounce Medal in Engineering is awarded to the student who, having completed the Certificate in Applied Science at Acadia University, has the highest average in the program.

2024 recipient: Owen Harold Urquhart

Frederic H. Sexton Scholarship in Engineering

An endowed scholarship has been established in memory of Frederic H. Sexton, CBE, founder and 40-year President of the Nova Scotia Technical College. It is awarded to the final-year engineering student with the highest record in the course at Acadia and who commences full-time studies at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Engineering.

2024 recipient: Gilbert MacLeod Underwood-Doe

University Scholars

The designation of University Scholar is granted to those candidates for a first bachelor's degree who have completed at least 90 credit hours at Acadia, have obtained an overall average of "A-" in them, and have obtained no mark below "B-" in any course.
